Correct a birth registration
If you have discovered an error in a registration record, it may be possible to arrange for the entry to be corrected. Some errors can be authorised by the Register Office; others will require authorisation by the General Register Office.
There are statutory fees to consider with a correction. This fee is payable to the Register Office at the time you submit the application along with any documentary evidence required. Please note the statutory fees are for consideration of a correction and does not guarantee an amendment to the registration as the outcome.
There is also a fee payable for each certificate requested following an approved correction. The Register Office will require you return all certificates of the entry obtained prior to the amendment to remove them for circulation in the public realm.
