Self-isolation support

Self-isolation is when you do not leave your home because you have or might have coronavirus (COVID-19). This helps stop the virus spreading to other people. It's a legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive or are told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace.

There are many ways in which you can access help and support while you’re staying at home.

Accessing food or other essentials

If you are having difficulty accessing food or other essentials during your period of self-isolation there are various ways of getting help.

NHS Volunteer Responders – Volunteers can help by collecting shopping, medicines and other important items. To arrange support for yourself or someone you know call 0808 196 3646 (8am to 8pm, 7 days a week).

Prescription medicines – If you need your prescribed medicines during your self-isolation period you can contact your local pharmacy who can arrange delivery. This service is only available to people during their 10-day self-isolation period and who can provide their NHS Test and Trace Account ID when requesting the service. This is an 8-character mix of letters and numbers.
