OWL (Online Watch Link)
Wandsworth Council and the Metropolitan Police Service are inviting residents to sign up to the crime and community safety app called OWL (Online Watch Link).
OWL service is a crime and community information service that helps keep Wandsworth residents safe.
OWL will send information about crimes in your area direct from local police and council officers.
OWL is already used by the police and council to send messages to subscribers by email. Now you can download the free app and get notification as soon as a new message is sent by your local police officers or council community safety officers.
By signing up to the OWL app, you’ll receive news about local issues to you, e.g burglaries, rogue traders and other incidents. You will also receive crime prevention advice from our police partners. The emails will be relevant to you because we’re able to send updates and appeals for information on a road-by-road basis. You can also share messages with social media and join your local Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
Join OWL today. The more residents signed up, the better our crime prevention advice and information will be shared amongst neighbours and communities in order to prevent and reduce crime in your area.
Cllr Jonathan Cook, Chairman of the Wandsworth Safer Neighbourhood Board, said: "With the new app Wandsworth’s residents can receive updates on the go. It’s especially important that our residents can feel informed at a time when restrictions will be eased, and the borough will become busier. The app gives guidance as to what to watch out for, allows residents to share intelligence and it also helps the police catch more offenders. I’d encourage residents to sign up to this app and help us keep Wandsworth the safest inner London borough. "
