Published notification of decision to close Christ Church Primary School

Following the formal consultation on the proposal to close Christ Church, Church of England Primary school by the governors, held between 29 February 2024 and 28 March 2024, the following proposal was approved by the Council’s Executive on Monday 22 April 2024:  

• The discontinuance (closure) of Christ Church, Church of England Primary School with effect from 31 August 2024. The reason for approval is that the school is operating below capacity and with falling pupil numbers impacting reception intake, the forecast results in the school no longer being financially viable in the long term. There are sufficient surplus places locally to accommodate displaced pupils, due to overall pupil numbers in Wandsworth primary schools declining.
